Moldy Chum and T3H

One of my most favorite fishing blogs is Moldy Chum, and my favorite two-handed rod  the Scott T3H (1288 to be exact) can now be found in one spot.  Moldy Chum posted the video (thank you) that we worked long and hard on this fall/winter on there site today.  Here is the link  If you have not watched it yet, enjoy.

Scott T3H Video

Had a great time working with Erik Rambo on this little project.  Great job Erik you do amazing things with the camera and at the editing desk.  Thank you Erik for all your hard work.

Thank you Brad Petzke and Kevin Feenstra for helping in this project as well.  And thank you Scott rods for making such a good product.  If you like the two-hand rods, you owe it to yourself to pick up one of the new T3H’s, they are sweet.

Screen Shot from Spey Cast Video

From the same project that shows the B&W Fly swimming, here is a screen shot from the video shot of my Scott T3H ripping up the water on the Manistee River.   I bought a Scott 1288 T3H and it’s an absolute gun.  Fell in love with this rod as soon as I first got it wet this fall.  Can handle any situation that I throw at it.  Big heavy flies or longer bellies and lighter bugs.  Rod just matches my casting style and everything Michigan big river fishing has to offer.

Last Fish of 2012, can’t wait for 2013

Thank you to everybody that follows Mangled Fly Media blog, Happy New Year.  Have some exciting things that I plan to post, and show in 2013.  Thank you for a great year.  Picture below was caught yesterday and did not think about until just now, but this LRB was the last fish caught in 2012 by MFM.

Happy New Year!

Keep on trying – season is almost over

So I know in my hearts of hearts that as the water temps cool, I’ll only have a couple more chances at the leaping, cartwheeling, summersaulting, jumping, kicking your butt steelhead leaps that I try to burn into the images of film (DSLR).  But here is one from the week that turned out okay.  Had a chance at true glory but had the wrong ISO and AF for the moment, and all I captured was blur.

First of the year (for me)

                                                       Day off Streamer Joy!

Getting an October day off, in the tail end of Sandy as the wind has started to die down gave me a chance to bring out the big gun and swing with the two-hander.  Running the Extreme Intermediate Skagit from SA, my favorite fall line by the way, found some nice fish to play with.

Manistee River Sunrise – on the search for steel

Sunrise in the morning steelhead anglers take warning.  I love the fall colors and this morning they were on full display.

Smallmouth DVD Review

Another link to a positive review of the Big Appetite Smallmouth DVD.  Check out the link at the heartlandoutdoors

After 2 years of work putting together this DVD, nice to see others are finding joy in smallmouth bass as much as I do.  If your new to this site you can find more information about the DVD at our products page.

Late Sept and early Oct is prime time for Muskie

After last years trip, had to sneak out between salmon/steelhead trips and find a couple more Musky to play with this past week.  They are the biggest baddest predator that we have here in the Midwest.  They are a special fish and I love the chase.  With possible new laws and the MDNR working hard to find new waters to plant Musky in, the future looks bright.
