Not like the “blues” you are accustomed too, but blue flies. Not sure why it is when the snow starts flying that blue works. Actually I’m sure blue works just as well the rest of the year, but for me blue only comes out when the snow flies. Today was the first day of steelhead “blues”.

Your not kidding….the more I learn about swinging flies for steelhead the more I find myself using blue flies or at least flies with some blue accents. This year has been my best ever on the 2 hander and a pattern I tie thats blue/purple/black has done nearly all my damage. Great photos, keep them coming!
Thanks Rich and will do. Thanks for the comment, I have noticed a couple of your pics on the internet as well, great work this fall. Keep it up. Been a great year for the streamer, looking forward to learning more about winter behavior with so many fish in our systems this year. Thank you again and have a great Thanksgiving.
